Leitermayerklasse
pencil on wall, 500 A4 papersheets, 4 Videoscreens with DVD loops

SPACEINVASION, Vienna
curated by Elsy Lahner

The work was developed in the context of the exhibition row SPACEINVASION of curator Elsy Lahner. The title Leitermayerklasse (Leitermayer-class), derived from the studioaddress Leitermayergasse (Leitermayer-lane) of mahony, refers to different approaches of the artists to a common topic; therefore, contrary to the other work of mahony, solo works from each member have been exhibited.

The many holes at walls and bottom from the former users of the space built the initial idea of the four works. They were limited on minimum interferences, assumptions or acquirings. Thus in the first area the existing holes at the walls were numbered, while in the next area in a limited place the wall has been repaired and by the attempt a picture to hang, holes have been added again. A further work consisted of 500 attempts on DIN A4 paper, to draw a perfect circle or hole. In the last work one artist performed a circulation by disappearing through a hole existing in the bottom and returning via Cellar and road again to the starting point. All processes in the performances were noted on video and presented as part of the exhibition on b/w control monitors in the last room.
